Have only had the breakfast and really enjoyed it. The service was wonderful. However the location is small so in weekends be prepared for a wait

Service is friendly. First time there. Just needed something quick but it took a bit as they were busy and closing soon. Restaurant was full I could see others being served, food looks great and I plan to return for breakfast! We don't have tons of choice in Duarte .... Cool cafe ole skool vibes.

if u or a loved one needs to fast for a scan or outpatient medical procedure in the am or craving denny's type of bfast...J&A's Cafe IS the goto spot to fill up! aside from their generous portions and vast menu options, the ingredients are fresh which makes their food so scrumptious! yesterday, my wife and i came in around 11:30am and got seated immediately. i got the ultimate breakfast combo cuz i was craving pancakes n boy they were the fluffiest and most tender butter and syrup soaking pancakes ive...i need to stop talking about them, im starting to crave them again...so anyway, my wife got the belgian waffle deluxe becuz she LOVES belgian waffles (which is why i suggested trying J&A's in the first place) and they were damn gooood. just about the same tenderness n fluffiness as their pancakes but with a light crispiness and slight chewiness. knowing we were gonna head home for a much needed siesta, we got a patty melt "special" w/fruit (fresh melon medley!) or fries & mushroom soup too (or choice of salad) and philadelfian w/fries togo (for dinner)...they ended up being bfast this morning, but still very flavorful and filling! everything was cooked/prepared to perfection. there was no time for pics either...we're eaters, not foodies. service was great! i didnt get their names, but the waitress is very accommodating and attentive. the chefs/cooks were quick and the food temps were spot on and seasoned perfectly. the seating was spacious and well lit, maintained/clean. only smells were of yummy food being cooked. cant wait to need to fast/support-fast again

Came here for the first time today and I'm so glad we did! I tried the chicken sandwich and it was sooooo good. Someone else had the burger, and split a club sandwich. The portions are hearty and the service was friendly. Random decor definitely give it a homey feel. Can't wait to come back to this little hidden gem.

I love this place. Seriously a weekly visit. Love that menudo is daily. Price is very affordable. It's an older place and in old strip mall, but it works. Gives cafe feel. Service is always great. Regular girls in there are always very efficient. My only gripe is it's cash only!

Have to give yet another amazing review. I can't get enough of this place. I am tempted to move down the street just so I can go here every morning for a good breakfast and bottomless coffee. Service and food are both excellent, reasonable prices, homey atmosphere. It feels like going back to a simpler time, simple and delicious food and friendly service. The walls have old Route 66 photos and paraphernalia and pictures of model Ts and classic cars. Final tip: Hit the ATM before heading over, it's cash only. And honestly I'm totally fine with that. Zero complaints. This place is great!

We love coming here because the food Is truly like home cooked. The prices are great. And the service is impeccable!

Came here for brunch - got an omelette and breakfast burrito to share. The food and service were great. Loved the homemade sauces. Food took a little longer to come out so they comp'd our coffee. Would definitely come back when I'm in the area. Cash only!

I've had breakfast here several times and they've been consistently good. Food is fresh and a decent quality. FOOD The omelets, quesadillas, and breakfast burritos are my favorite here. SERVICE Good quality service. They are friendly and check up on you at a good rate. PARKING Large, shared lot. Free and no issues.

I've made a decision to always write a review when I patronize a business more than once. I've been here twice now and find the food recomendable. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to friends and definitely plan to come back here for breakfast and brunch. The last time I was here I got the matador omelette which I thought was great. This time, I got the breakfast burrito, (pictured at home) along with a short stack of pancakes, with sliced banana. The food comes out piping hot, so it must have been brought out straightaway. The burrito was perfect. I cut it in half and saw that all the ingredients were well missed. I have had breakfast burritos where they basically put strips of bacon on top of scrambled eggs, which all sit on a layer of potatoes. When it's well mixed, as it was here, you get all ingredients in every bite. The tortilla was nice and chewy and the ranchero sauce, which I had asked for separately, added additional flavor and spice to every bite. It was a really delicious burrito. The short stack was equally delicious. They were cooked to perfection with the smooth light brown surface and were so chewy. They had the right amount of bounce as you bit down. Really great pancakes. This place is a total sleeper. I had driven past it so many times without giving it a second look. Completely unassuming facade in a rather rundown strip mall. But don't let that fool you. I walked in at 9am this morning and it was already bustling. Oh and they only take cash. If it's in high demand at 9am and they only take cash, you know it's gonna be good. I'll be back for sure.
